team places 4 runners in top 10
The Prairie girls crosscountry team finished in 2nd place as a team while Ciara Chaffee was 2nd overall in the JV Crosscountry run at the Inland Empire Challenge at Lewiston Saturday, Oct. 8. Prairie ran their whole teams in the JV run due in part to the competition level but also due to some scheduling conflicts for several of the team members. Everyone for both the boys and girls team set personal best makers on the day with the girls placing 4 runners in the top 10 and 8 in the top 16. Chaffee was 2nd overall in 21:53. Kendra Duclos was 4th in 23:04, outkicking her sister Kyleigh to the finish as Kyleigh was 5th in the 23:08. Jacey Rambo was 10th in 23:51. Jessie Sonnen was 13th in 24:14. Kerri Villamor was 14th in 24:33. Sarah Ross was 15th in 24:35. Maria Schmidt was 16th in 24:35. Hope McIntire was 21st in 25:49. Sierah Poxleitner was 30th in 27:03 and Molly Schwartz was 33rd om 27:30. There were 59 runners in the race. The boys team placed 13th out of 15 teams. James Villamor was the top finisher in 55th place with a time of 19:57. Justin Lockett was 95th in 21:07. Luke Schwartz was 119th in 21:43. William Hooper was 133rd in 22:10. Daniel Megale was 172nd in 24:56 and Tyler Leanard was 178th in 27:44. There were 186 runners who finished. This course is also where the District meet will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19. Prairie’s next meet is this Thursday, Oct. 12 at the Troy Invitational. The girls race will start at 4:40 with the boys race at 5:10. JV and varsity will all run together.
