win opener
The Prairie boys basketball team started slowly but came on strong to win 72-62 at Grangeville in their season opener Thursday, Nov. 30. Spencer Schumacher put up 31 points and pulled down 6 rebounds to lead the Pirates. Hunter Chaffee added 15 points and 7 rebounds with 6 assists. Devin Ross added 6 assists and 7 points. Nick Mager also hit double figures in scoring with 10 points with Damian Forsmann scoring 7 and Owen Anderson 2. Grangeville took an early lead of 13-19 after the first quarter but Prairie came back to tie it at 36-36 by halftime. Prairie outscored Grangeville 19-14 in the third quarter to take a 55-50 lead and then outscored Grangeville 17-12 in the fourth to win by 10. Grangeville won the JV game 35-66.
