in 110 hurdles, 3 girls relays finish first at Regional Meet
The girls 4x200 team of Theresa Wemhoff, Sierra McWilliams, Jordyn Higgins and Laney Uhlenkott took first place in their event at the State Track Meet at Middleton Saturday, May 19. Their time was 1:49.49. The other 3 girls relays all wound up finishing in 2nd place. On Friday, May 18, the medley team of Ellea Uhlenkott, Higgins, Laney Uhlenkott and Wemhoff took 2nd with a time of 1:55.01. On Saturday the 4x100 team of Wemhoff, Ellea Uhlenkott, Higgins and Laney Uhlenkott placed 2nd in 52.64. Also on Saturday the 4x400 team of Wemhoff, Higgins, Ciara Chaffee and Laney Uhlenkott took 2nd in 4:14.83. Also earning medals at state was Sean Spencer who finished fourth in the 110 meter hurdles in a personal best 16.21 and fifth in the 300 hurdles in 41.98 after running a personal best of 41.59 in the prelims. McWilliams just missed earning a medal in the 3200 as she took 7th in 12:29.07. She also placed 14th in the 800 in 2:33.95 and 14th in the 1600 in 5:55.55. Chaffee finished 13th in the 800 in 2:33.15 and 13th in the 1600 in 5:54.08. Ellea Uhlenkott finished 13th in the 300 hurdles in 52.41. Koleen Hasselstrom was 12th in the shot put at 30’4” and 12th in the discus at 90’1”. For the boys Cole Martin was 14th in the 100 in a personal best of 11.81. Carson Schmidt was 8th in the discus at 124’8”. Damian Forsmann was unable to clear opening height in the high jump and wound up tied for 10th. The boys medley team of Caleb McGee, Schmidt, Martin and Spencer finished 7th in 3:51.45, 1 spot short of earning state medals. As a team the girls wound up tied for fifth with 36 points and the boys were 25th with 12 points.
