Letters
to the editor from this week's Chronicle:
To the Editor,
As the Idaho County Democratic Party Chair, it was my honor to serve,
for the first time, in our local delegation to the Idaho Democratic Party
(IDP) Platform Convention. The work of the Party Leadership, Staff and
Delegates is praiseworthy. From this effort came what was described by
the Convention Platform Chair as the most progressive enacted in at least
recent times. This document can be viewed on the State Party’s website.
I would like to also point out that the Delegates unanimously adopted
a resolution that calls for the national party to rid itself of superdelegates.
If acted on, this reform will move our Party forward to a more democratic
organization.
And it is with great pride, as a Union member, that I can state that
the IDP was the first State Party to initiate contract negotiations with
its staff, and soon these fine men and women will have a workplace organized
under the great International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
I welcome any questions to my email below. Or better yet, attend our
next meeting, tentatively scheduled for August 13th. Especially those who
were so energized in 2015-16.
Sincerely,
John Andrechak
Redneck Review!
No. 168 - 7/9/18
For the third week in a row, our review has been giving attention to
the old saying that appears in several places in past history, at least
in words similar to this: "Peace, peace, but there is no peace." Last week
we included this claim, "HATRED is the key today."
It was also asked at the time if there was a possible remedy to this
situation. And it was claimed there that the best bet for world and lasting
peace was the teachings of Jesus Christ, who claimed to be God, with proof
overwhelming! HE indeed was and is the most significant figure in history!
No need to argue now! Interested people can find the proof!
So where might be a source of the HATRED we see in the world
and our country today? With no claim that this is the ultimate answer,
nor a deep philosophical one, the following is submitted as a possible
and even a probable source of some of the problem!
The first quotations below have been taken from several sources, and
can be verified by a person who wants to do the necessary research.
They all relate to the teaching of Karl Marx and other leaders of the communist
movement which took over Russian in 1917.
"Communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and
all morality." - (Communist Manifesto). "We must combat religion.
This is the ABC of all materialism, and consequently of Marxism.
Down with religion! Long live atheism!" - (Lenin). "It is no
use hoping for a Communist victory unless we destroy Christianity." -
(Laferte, Mexican leader in1944). "The Catholic Church, with the
Pope in its van, is now an important bulwark of all the counter-revolutionary
forces." - (Yaroslavsky). "We hate Christians and Christianity.
Even the best of them must be considered our worst enemies. They p reach
love of one's neighbor and mercy, which is contrary to our principles.
Christian love is an obstacle to the development of the Revolution.
Down with love of one's neighbor! What we want is hate...Only then
can we conquer the universe." - (Lunarcharsky, Russian Commissar of Education).
And what about this blunt statement quoted from Lenin? - "We must hate,
for hatred is the basis of Communism. Children must be taught to hate their
parents if they are not Communists." And another Marx - "Religion is the
opium of the people." Finally, "We Communists do not distinguish
between good and bad religions because they are all bad." - (Earl Browder
- U.S.A.)
There is more! But what about the following statements attributed
to communist authorities?
"Marxists have never forgotten that violence will be an inevitable
accompaniment of the collapse of capitalism..." - (Lenin.)
"We must make our school boys and girls not merely non-religious, but actively
and passionately anti-religious." - (Lenin's wife, Madam Krupskaya). "Promises
are like pie crust, made to be broken." - (Lenin). And Lenin once again!
- "Marxism is materialism. Atheism is an integral part of Marxism."
Finally, (Krushchev, before a
U.S. visit in 1959) - "We cannot expect the Americans to jump from
Capitalism to Communism but we can assist their elected leaders in giving
Americans small doses of Socialism, until they suddenly awake to find they
have Communism." He also said - "We will bury you!"
A tip of the iceberg above! But a casual student of the news
today and the hate filled diatribes thrown out at all who disagree with
certain basic positions does make us wonder if deliberate attempts are
being made by enemies of ours to destroy our traditional way of life"
I wonder!?
