officials sought
Recruitment is under way for football officials for high school and junior high school football in Idaho’s District 2. The first meeting, which is an introductory meeting for coaches and officials, touches on rules changes from last season and points of emphasis for this season. It will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Lewiston High School Auditorium. Additional meetings for officials will take place throughout August, usually on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings. The full schedule of meetings will be provided to officials in early August. Games are played beginning in late August through mid-November. Officials in District 2 work junior high up to varsity level games at schools stretching from Grangeville to Potlatch. Games take place nearly every night of the week with most varsity games reserved for Friday nights. Officials can expect to work 2-3 games per week, depending upon other commitments they may have. To register online, visit the Idaho High School Activities Association website at www.idhsaa.org, click on the Officials tab and follow the instructions. Registration is open from July 10 through August 13 and is $40 if registration is completed by August 13. After August 14, the cost is $65.
