Pirates beat Genesee in 4 games
The Prairie Lady Pirates beat Genesee for the first time since the 2015 state championship match as they downed the Bulldogs in 4 games at Cottonwood Tuesday, Sept. 11. Scores were 25-19, 25-27, 26-24 and 26-24. Theresa Wemhoff finished the match with 14 kills, 6 digs and 7 assists. Kristyna Krogh had 18 assists and 4 aces. The win keeps Prairie unbeaten on the season at 4-0 and they are also 4-0 in league play. The JV squad lost to Genesee while the C team won. We don’t have a more detailed article because we had outdated information as to where the match was to be played. Lady Pirates at Border Battle The Prairie Lady Pirates will make their annual trip to Pomeroy to compete in the Annual Border Battle between Washington and Idaho Schools. Prairie, Genesee, Troy, Orofino and Kamiah are the Idaho teams and Asotin, Clarkston, Dayton-Waitsburg, Pomeroy and St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse are the Washington teams. All of Prairie’s matches are in the high school gym. Prairie’s first match is at 9:50 a.m. against St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse. Their second match is at 12:10 p.m. against host Pomeroy. At 2:30 p.m. they play Asotin. At 4:50 they play Dayton-Waitsburg and at 6 p.m. they play Clarkston.
