Volleyball starts Saturday
The District volleyball tournament will get underway this Saturday, Oct. 13 at the LCSC Activity Center in Lewiston. Prairie is the #3 seed into the tournament after losing at Lapwai Tuesday evening. They will play #6 C.V. Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. at the LCSC Activity Center while #2 seeded Genesee plays #7 Kamiah at the same time. The winners would play again at 4 p.m. Saturday while the losers would play at 7 p.m. Saturday in a loser out match. Troy gets a first round bye while #4 Lapwai plays #5 Potlatch at 11 a.m. with the winner playing Troy at 4 p.m. Saturday. The tournament continues with loser-out matches on Monday, Oct. 15. The Monday winners play on Tuesday at 5:30 for third place. The championship match is Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. with both of those teams advancing to State. The third place team will travel to Post Falls on Thursday, Oct. 18 for a play-in match against Wallace. The winner of that match plays again on Saturday against the second place team from District 4 for a state berth. That match will be at either Lapwai or Grangeville at a time to be determined. Summit will be the #6 seed and will play #7 seeded Timberline in a loser-out match at 11 a.m. Saturday at the LCSC Activity Center. With a win they would play #3 seeded Nezperce at 2:30 p.m. That winner would play the #2 seeded Logos at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The loser would play at 7 p.m. against the loser of the #4 Highland vs. #5 Deary loser. The tournament continues on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The first place team advances to state while the second place team will advance to a play-in match on Saturday, Oct. 20 against the second place team from District 3. The 1A D1 state tournament will be at Skyview High School in Nampa on Oct. 26-27. The 1A D2 state tournament will be at Borah High School in Boise on the same dates.
