983-2164 to Register Beginning Spanish & Culture 12 classes; Mon & Thurs. 1/24-3/14; 7-8:30PM By: Francisca Garner; Cost: $68 Taught by a certified teacher and a Dominican native Spanish speaker, this six week course is designed to introduce students to the basic pronunciation, vocabulary and some simple sentences of the Spanish language, with students using a workbook for practice and memorization. The beauty of Latin American culture, through music, videos and food tasting, will also be covered. Registration closes one week prior to the start of class so workbooks can be ordered. Jan 30th; 8:30-11:30am By: Dale Brege; Cost: $35 Learn the basics of Excel and begin to analyze an assortment of information and numbers covering data entry, formatting and basic calculations. The little time you spend learning this program will go a long way toward increasing your effectiveness in organizing and presenting numbers and data. Powerpoint 2013 Wed. Feb 6th; 8:30-11:30am By: Dale Brege; Cost: $35 This class begins with Powerpoint basics and progresses through a few advanced techniques that can be used as an aid when giving either formal or fun, informal presentations. The instructor will cover presentation set-up, slide exchanges, font size and style, adding pictures and clip art, utilizing graphs and tables, bullet designs, sound and animation. Improve Your Public Speaking Six Wed. 2/6-3/13; 1:30-3pm By: Norma Staaf; Cost: $75 Some people fear public speaking more than death and if you are one of them, this class is for you! Whether you need to give speeches or presentations for your job, school, or civic group, this class will help you develop organized speeches with a clear message. Students are required to plan speeches at home, present them in front of the class, and will be critiqued on their performance in a safe environment. |
