Lady Pirates stay unbeaten
The Prairie Lady Pirates routed a pair of league opponents last week winning 72-17 over Clearwater Valley at Cottonwood Thursday, Jan. 10 and then winning 80-20 at Potlatch on Saturday, Jan. 12.
Vs. C.V.
In their home game against C.V. Prairie jumped out to a 22-2 lead by the end of the first quarter and extended that to 39-9 by halftime.
It was 64-14 after 3 quarters. The fourth quarter was played with a running clock and Prairie outscored the Rams 6-3 in that period.
Every player scored with 3 players in double figures led by Jordyn Higgins with 17. Madison Shears scored 12 and Alexis Hiler had 11. Ciara Chaffee had 9 with Theresa Wemhoff scoring 7, India Peery 6, Ellea Uhlenkott 5, Kristyna Krogh and Delanie Lockett 2 each and Sydnee Brugeman 1.
Peery had 9 assists and 7 steals.
There was no JV game.

At Potlatch
In the game at Potlatch the Lady Loggers stayed with Prairie for the first 4 minutes and even led 4-6 at the 4:22 mark of the first quarter. Higgins then converted a 3-point play that put Prairie ahead and kicked off an 18-0 run.Jordyn Higgins goes after a loose ball at Potlatch.
2 free throws each by Wemhoff and Krogh made it 11-6. A basket each by Higgins and Krogh closed out the first quarter with Prairie up 15-6.
Prairie amped up the defensive pressure in the second quarter forcing 13 turnovers as they outscored Potlatch 25-4.
A steal by Shears led to a basket. Krogh scored on an inbounds play and Shears sank a 3-pointer to close out the 18-0 run for a 22-6 lead.
It was 25-10 with 4 minutes to play in the half and from that point Prairie outscored Potlatch 15-0 to end the half and started the third quarter with a 12-0 run for a total of 27 unanswered points.
Higgins, Wemhoff and Hiler scored 6 each in that 27-0 run with Peery adding 5.
Potlatch broke the run with a basket at the 5:13 mark of the third quarter only to see Prairie reel off another 12 straight points. Higgins and Peery scored 4 each in that run.
Prairie led 40-10 at the half and 68-16 after 3 quarters.
The fourth quarter was played under a running clock with Prairie outscoring Potlatch 12-4 in the final frame.
Prairie had 5 players score in double figures led by Higgins with 15. Wemhoff scored 13, Krogh 12 and Shears and Peery 11 each. Hiler just missed hitting double figures with 9 points. Uhlenkott scored 6, Lockett 2 and Chaffee 1.
Peery had a double-double with 10 rebounds to lead Prairie. Rebounding was even at 27 each.
Higgins nearly had a triple-double with 10 assists and 8 steals to lead the team in both categories. Wemhoff and Shears had 6 steals each and Shears added 4 assists.
Potlatch had 41 turnovers to just 12 for Prairie.
The Pirates were 32 for 56 from the field, 57%, and 14 for 22 at the line, 64%. Potlatch started out 3 for 6 from the field but wound up just 9 for 33, 27%. The Loggers were 2 for 2 at the line.
Prairie stays unbeaten on the season at 14-0, 9-0 in league play.
The JV game was similar to the varsity game in that it was close early on but Prairie went on to win big, 54-12.
Potlatch never led in the game but tied it a 7-7 with 5:04 left in the opening quarter. 
A basket by Ellea Uhlenkott kickstarted Prairie on a 19-2 run that carried into the second quarter.
Uhlenkott had a big game for the JV’s with 10 first quarter points and 16 overall in 3 quarters of action.
Prairie led 15-9 at the end of the first quarter and then scored the first 11 points of the second quarter as Uhlenkott scored 4 with Delanie Lockett adding 3 and Josie Remacle and Ali Rehder 2 each.
Prairie went on to lead 32-12 at the half as Olivia Klapprich, Lanie Forsmann and Remacle each scored 2 more points in the quarter.
The JV’s shut out Potlatch in the second half, 16-0 in the third and 6-0 in the fourth, which was played with a running clock.
Hope Schwartz and Lockett each scored 5 points in the third quarter while Forsmann scored 4 and Klapprich 2 in the fourth quarter.
For the game Uhlenkott led the scoring with 16 points on 8 for 10 shooting. Lockett added 10 points with Schwartz scoring 7, Forsmann 6, Remacle and Klapprich 4 each, Molly Johnson 3 and Rehder and Trinity Martinez 2 each.
Prairie had a 29-24 edge on the boards with Johnson grabbing 6 to lead Prairie.
Lockett and Martinez each had 4 steals and Lockett had 6 assists.
Prairie was 24 for 51 from the field, 47%, and 5 for 12 at the line, 42%. Potlatch was 5 for 24 from the field, 21%, 1 for 3 at the line, 33%.
