hold Hoop Shoot
The annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Hoop Shoot was done on January 26. There were 161 boys and girls from Prairie School District and Summit Academy who participated from ages 9 to 14. The winners of Cottonwood Council 1389 Knights of Columbus moved on as a district winners and shoot another round of 25 shots for state competition. Each district winner received a championship certificate and medallion. The 9-year old champions were Erica Schlader for the girls and Stetson Geis for the obys. Avery Riener was the 10 year old girls champion with Payton Stamper winning the boys competition. In the 11-year old bracket Briggs Rambo was the boys champion and Alexis Schumacher was the girls champion. Ember Martin was the 12 year old girls champion while Matthew Warren was the boys winner. The 13 year old girls division champion was Taylor Riener and the boys was Cody Wassmuth. Fourteen year old champions were Delanie Lockett in the girls bracket and Lane Schumacher in the boys. This year many good shooters have the possible opportunity to win a state title and go on to international competition with their scores. The Cottonwood Knights of Columbus would like to thank the Prairie Elementary School and Prairie Jr./Sr. High School, along with Summit Academy for allowing the K.C.’s to make this event possible.
