Pirates lost opener
The Prairie Lady Pirates finally got onto a softball field that wasn’t covered with snow and lost 2-10 at Asotin Tuesday, March 19. Prairie took a 2-0 lead in the third inning but Asotin answered with 4 in the bottom of that inning and then scored 2 each in the next 3 innings to pull away for the win. Prairie was held to 4 hits by Asotin pitcher Jordyn Nielson with Madison Shears and Noelle Uhlenkott each collecting a double and a single. Prairie pitcher Sydnee Bruegeman gave up 8 hits with 9 errors hurting the cause. Lack of play outdoors probably contributed to the errors.
