Pirates take second at District
The Prairie baseball team earned a berth in the state tournament by beating Genesee 11-0 in a play-in game Tuesday, May 7 at Cottonwood. They will go into state as the #2 seed from District after beating Clearwater Valley 11-3 on Friday and then losing in the championship game 2-5 to Potlatch on Saturday. Both of those games were played at Orofino.
By taking 2nd they will open state play at 11:30 a.m. MDT Friday, May 17, at Glenns Ferry, against C.V. With a win they would then play District 3 champion Glenns Ferry at 5 p.m. MDT. With a loss they would play the Lapwai-Horseshoe Bend loser at 9 a.m. Saturday for 5th and 6th place. . . .

Pirates have 4 Regional champions; State Track Meet info
The Prairie girls track team qualified all 4 relays for state with Ciara Chaffee and Cole Martin each qualifying in 3 individual events at the Regional Track Meet at Kamiah Friday and Saturday, May 10-11. . . .
The State Track Meet will take place again this year at Middleton High School on Friday and Saturday, May 17-18.

Prairie High School Rodeo Team: Tanner Hibbard & Molly Johnson both earned enough points this year to qualify for Idaho High School Rodeo State Finals. Tanner qualified in Team Roping & Saddle Bronc Riding. Molly qualified in Breakaway Roping & Light Rifle Shooting Competition.  The finals will be held at Bannock County Event Center in Pocatello Idaho June 8th-June 15. Photo by Misty Johnson.
