Idaho County Fair is this week
The 2019 Idaho County Fair kicked off the morning of Wednesday, August 14 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
4-H Project entering starts at 9 a.m. and runs through 11 a.m. Open Class exhibits can be entered from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The next official event was the 4-H Dog Show which started at 9:30 a.m. The 4-H Rabbit Show started at the same time. Both events were in the Vernon Agee Pavilion.
The 4-H Poultry Show followed at 1 p.m., also at the Agee Pavilion.
4-H exhibit judging was from 11 to 4 p.m. and Open Class exhibit judging is from 1 to 6 p.m.
At 1:30 pm. The Pigtail Contest was held in the Schmidt Building.
The 4-H Fashion Show started at 7 p.m., also in the Schmidt Building.
On Thursday the 4-H and FFA fitting and showing livestock contest start at 8:30 .m.
The Old Time Fiddlers will be playing at 1 p.m. in the bandshell.
Also on Thursday is the 2-Minute Talent Show at 7 p.m. in the Schmidt Building.
On Friday the 4-H and FFA Livestock Judging Contest starts at 8:30 a.m. and is followed by the Quality judging from 9:30 a.m. to noon and then begins again at 1 p.m. until done.
The 4-H Horse Fitting and Showing Contest starts at 1 p.m. and once it and the Quality Judging is done the Round Robin showmanship judging will be held.
From 4 to 7 p.m. the Prairie Booster Club’s Potato Bar will be held in the City Park Gazebo. This year funds raised go toward helping Erika Pepper with her medical expenses.
The Royalty Evening starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Schmidt Building and it concludes with the crowning of the 2020 Royalty.
At 7 p.m. Vintage Youth will be performing in the bandshell.
After the royalty crowning the 4-H Green Swing Dance will be held in the Livestock Pavilion.
On Saturday, the Idaho County Fair Parade gets underway at 10 a.m. on Main Street in Cottonwood.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Idaho/Lewis County Cattle Association will be holding their annual Beef Barbecue.
At noon the 4-H awards will be presented in the Livestock Pavilion.
At 1 p.m. the 4-H Market Livestock Sale will get underway.
A new event this year is a Spinning Demonstration in the Open Class Building set to start at 1 p.m. It is presented by Lou Sawyer and will last until 3 p.m.
The exhibit buildings will close at 3:30 and exhibits can be checked out from 4 to 6 p.m.
