Can you feel it? Another exciting year of Prairie Athletics and Education firing up and ready to chase the rewards that come with hard work and dedication. Football, Volleyball and Cross Country along with Cheerleading are practicing and looking forward to great seasons. It is fun to see the growth and development that each of these young athletes has during the season. We all love to win but as a coach it is far more valuable to see the confidence and the feeling of accomplishment we get to see in these young athletes. I ask you to take note of this also. Please acknowledge great efforts and maybe even more important are those who you see diligently working to help their teams in every way they can during the coming year. Consistent, hardworking, team players are so important to any team. Many of you may have seen our membership notices coming out. It is that time of year again to join the booster club with a donation of money to help us support the schools. Many great things come from your donation and support. Score clocks, tracks and bleachers, Missoula Children’s Theatre, guest speakers, lab equipment, overall funds for groups and teachers if needed. Please join me in becoming a member of the Prairie Booster Club. Next meeting is on September 11th at 5:30 at the Hangout. We would love to see more bodies taking a part in how we support our kids. The Burger Barn is ready to roll again this year at the football games. If any one or any business would like to take a night and cook and sell burgers, we would love your participation. Many hands make light work. Or join me in selling 50/50 tickets which is a blast getting to talk to so many of our supporters. Pirate gear is coming around again this year. A brochure with items available for purchase will be sent out with the kids from school. If you don’t see the item you want, do not despair as almost anything you want can be found and printed with some Pirate theme if you want. Our current pirate store with some items is at Precision Accounting in the Mini Mall on main street in Cottonwood. Thank you, Mandy Bunce, for your support. So, get out there and show your Pirate Pride with some Pirate Gear. Ask, Denise, Cara, Linda or Glenn for more information. As always, “Go Pirates” Glenn Poxleitner |
