Chaffee
earns 4th place finish at Seaport Invite
Ciara Chaffee had Prairie’s highest ever individual finish at the Seaport Invite hosted by Clarkston High School Saturday, Sept. 14. She placed 4th, just 1 spot shy of a medal but did receive a ribbon. Her time was 22:03.04. The Prairie girls team finished in 5th place with 105 points as Kyleigh Duclos placed 17th in 24:23.57; Jessie Sonnen placed 21st in 24:39.79; Mattie Lustig placed 36th in 27:08.03 and Sierra Chapman placed 41st in 31:21.95. The boys team placed 6th with 170 points. The top boys finisher was Kyle Schwartz in 37th with a time of 21:18.80. William Hooper was 40th in 21:31.41. Justin Lockett was 48th in 23:42.56. Morgan Poxleitner was 52nd in 30:467.91 and new team member Conner Brown was 53rd in 31:03.52. Caleb McGee sat out the race with an injury. In the Jr. High races, Lee Forsmann was 55th among the boys with a time of 10:39.59. In the girls race Zoe Hooper placed 21st in a time of 10:33.94. New team members Addie Crowl was 55th in 12:20.83 and Katrina George was 77th in 13:37.34. Jr. High athletes run a 3,000 meter course while the high school athletes run a 5,000 meter course.
