Volleyball starts Saturday
The Class 1A, Div. 1, District 2 volleyball tournament gets underway Saturday, Oct. 19. Prairie is the #4 seed and will play #5 Lapwai at 11 a.m. at the LCSC Activity Center. With a win they would face #1 Troy with a berth at State on the line at 4 p.m. Saturday. With a loss they wouldn’t play again until Monday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. If they should happen to win both matches on Saturday, they would play in the championship match at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23. Both teams in the championship match will advance to State. If they win, then lose on Saturday, they would play on Monday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. If they play on Monday and win, they would play again on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 5:30 p.m. for third place at District. The third place team has to go to Post Falls Middle School on Thursday, Oct. 24 for a play-in match against Wallace. The winner of that match plays again on Saturday against the second place team from Districts 4-5-6 at 1 p.m. MDT at Boise’s Timberline High School. The State Tournament will be at Lapwai High School Nov. 1-2. The District bracket is shown below.  |
