Many veterans were in attendance at the Prairie Schools
Veterans Day assembly although apparently very few wanted to sit in the

Mark Tacke received a certificate as a World War II
veteran from the national VFW. He is the Cottonwood Post’s only surviving
WWII veteran and received a standing ovation when introduced at the school
