Patriots pick up first win
The St. John Bosco Lady Patriots recorded their first win of the season when they beat Highland 39-25 at Cottonwood last Thursday, Dec. 12. Bosco took an 11-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and still held that 5-point lead at the half, 17-12. In the third quarter the ramped things up both offensively and defensively as they outscored the Huskies 14-4 to take a 31-16 lead into the fourth quarter. That quarter featured back-to-back 3-pointers by Lexi Currier that sparked the team. The two teams played pretty much even through the fourth quarter with Highland edging the Patriots 8-9. Jade Prigge wound up as the leading scorer with 14 points while Currier scored 11. Jessie Sonnen scored 5 while Erin Chmelik scored 4, Makayla Rose 3 and Dani Sonnen 2.
