named player of the year
Cole Martin was named the Class 1A-Division 1 football player of the year by the Idaho Statesman this past week. Martin gained 1600 yards rushing as a running back on offense and scored 24 touchdowns. He also played defensive back where he broke up 19 passes, with 6 interceptions, 3 of which were returned for touchdowns. Ryan Hasselstrom was named as coach of the year for the division. Making the 1st team offense were wide receiver Derik Shears and offensive lineman Dean Johnson. Named to the 1st team defense were defensive lineman Johnson, linebacker Owen Anderson and defensive back Sam Mager. Named to the 2nd team defense were Cole Schlader at quarterback and Anderson at running back. Named to the 2nd team defense was Shears at linebacker. |
