Patriots beat Timberline
The St. John Bosco Lady Patriots picked up their second win in a row as they held off Timberline 49-42 at Cottonwood Thursday, Dec. 19. The game was tight throughout the first half as the score was tied 8-8 after one quarter and Timberline led by 1 at the half, 17-18. SJB still trailed by 1 heading into the fourth quarter, 23-24 but more than doubled their score in the fourth quarter as they outscored the Spartans 26-18 to pull out the win. Lexi Currier nailed back-to-back 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to spark the late rally. She wound up with 12 points in the game. Erin Chmelik led the scoring with 16 points while Jade Prigge was also in double figures with 14. Dani Sonnen scored 4 and Jessie Sonnen added 3 points. Chmelik had a double-double in the game as she added 17 rebounds, including several key rebounds in the fourth quarter, to lead the team. Summit is now 2-4 on the season and in league play as they head into Christmas break. Their next game will be Tuesday, Jan. 7 when they host Nezperce.
