Lady Pirates start 3-0
PIRATES GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
The Prairie Lady Pirates started their season with a win at Highland Wednesday, Sept. 2, and then a pair of league wins Thursday, Sept. 3 over Kamiah in their home opener. They swept Highland 25-11, 25-11, 25-21. In the first match against Kamiah they won in 4 sets, 29-27, 17-25, 26-24, 25-20. They swept the Kubs in the second match 25-15, 25-17, 25-18. At Highland
In the match at Highland Hope Schwartz served Prairie to a 4-0 lead in
the opening game with 2 aces plus a kill each by Delanie Lockett and
Schwartz.
![]() Later in the game a kill by Schwartz sent Tara Schlader to the service line at 8-3. After 2 kills by Jade Prigge and another by Madison Shears, Prairie led 11-3. After 8 straight sideouts Prairie broke through with a service point on a kill by Schlader that made it 16-7. Lockett then served 3 straight aces to make it 19-7. After more more sideouts, Schlader went to the service line with a 21-9 lead. A kill by Prigge, an ace by Schlader and a kill by Trinity Martinez made it 24-9. Highland fought off 2 game points before missing a serve to give Prairie the 25-11 win. Highland took a 0-2 lead in the second game for their first lead of the match. Halle Klapprich scored a kill to put Prairie on the board and Schwartz followed with 2 aces for a 3-2 lead. After a sideout, Ellea Uhlenkott scored a kill to send Klapprich to the service line. A kill each by Prigge and Schwartz plus 2 aces by Klapprich gave Prairie An 8-3 lead. After 10 sideouts in the next 12 points, Schwartz served up an ace and Uhlenkott scored a kill for a 16-9 lead. After another trade of sideouts Klapprich served for 4 points for a 21-10 lead. Madison Shears had a pair of kills and Uhlenkott and Prigge each added a kill. After another trade of sideouts Uhlenkott served out the game. Shears scored a kill then Uhlenkott jump served 2 aces for finish the game off 25-11. Prairie seemed to lose their edge in the third game as Highland took leads of 5-10 and 6-12. Prairie was still down 11-16 when Shears scored a sideout kill. A kill by Klapprich, an ace by Schlader and a kill by Josie Remacle cut the lead to 15-16. Prairie was able to tie it with an ace by Klapprich to make it 17-17. Highland took an 18-20 lead but a back row kill by Sierra McWilliams and a kill by Kristin Wemhoff tied it at 20-20. Highland took a 20-21 lead but a kill by Shears sent Lockett to the service line where she served out the match. Klapprich scored a kill to put Prairie ahead then Lockett served 3 straight aces to end the match, 25-21. Shears had 9 kills, including a block, in the match plus 3 assists. Prigge had 9 kills and 1 assist. Schwartz had 5 kills, 15 assists and 6 aces. Schlader had 4 kills, 14 assists and 3 aces. Uhlenkott had 4 kills, including a block, and 3 aces. Klapprich had 3 kills and 2 aces. Remacle had 3 kills. Lockett had 2 kills, 1 assist and 7 aces. Martinez and McWilliams each had 2 kills. Wemhoff had 1 kill and 2 assists. Prairie also won all 3 games in the JV match, 25-6, 25-14, 15-4. Wemhoff served Prairie to a 3-0 lead with 3 aces. Prairie really got separation when Olivia Klapprich went to the service line with an 8-5 lead. She served 15 straight points including 11 aces to give Prairie a 23-5 lead. After a pair of sideouts, Wemhoff served the game-winning ace. In the second game Riley Enneking had a 4-point service run that gave Prairie a 7-1 lead. She had an ace while Laney Forsmann had 2 kills and Ali Rehder added a kill. Again it was Klapprich who broke the game open. She took over at the service line after a kill by Julia Rehder and served 7 straight points this time. She had 3 aces while Forsmann had 2 kills plus a block and Enneking added a kill for a 19-7 lead. 2 aces by Enneking put Prairie at match point at 24-11. Highland then fought off 3 match points before missing a serve. In the third game Klapprich scored a back-row kill for the first point. Isabella Walsh then served 3 straight aces for a 4-0 lead. After Highland scored a sideout, Julie Rehder scored a sideout kill to send Taylor Riener to the service line. Riener was the serving star of this game with 6 straight points including 4 aces. Ember Martin and Klapprich each added a kill for an 11-1 lead. Ali Rehder wound up serving the final 2 points of the match for a 15-4 win. Vs. Kamiah
In the opening match against Kamiah the Kubs took and early leads of
5-8 and 7-11. Schlader scored a sideout kill and Schwartz served up 2
aces with Lockett tying the game with a kill and Schwartz scoring 1 to
put them ahead.
![]() Prairie led 23-20 after a back row kill by McWilliams but Kamiah answered with 4 straight points to get to game point at 23-24. They then bricked the serve to tie it. Kamiah had another game point at 24-25 and bricked another serve. Prairie got to game point at 26-25 on a kill by Prigge then bricked a serve of their own. Kamiah got to game point again at 26-27 and, again, bricked a serve. Prairie finally put the game away as Uhlenkott served 2 aces to win 29-27. Apparently Prairie used up their energy gutting out that first game win as Kamiah jumped out to a 0-7 lead in the second game. Prairie got within 3-7 then saw Kamiah score 5 straight for a 3-12 lead. Prairie trailed by as many as 12 at 12-24. They fought off 5 straight game points before a net violation gave Kamiah the winning point at 17-25. Kamiah jumped out to a 0-4 lead in the third game. Prairie got within 2 at 6-8 then saw Kamiah push the lead back to 6 at 6-12. Prairie trailed by 7 at 8-15 before starting their rally. At 10-16 Schwartz scored a free ball kill to send Lockett to the service line. After a tip by Prigge, Lockett served 2 aces. A kill each by Schlader and Uhlenkott tied the game at 16-16. After a sideout, Uhlenkott scored a sideout for Prairie by stuffing a Kamiah spike. Prigge then gave prairie their first lead of the game with a cross court kill. Kamiah took the lead back and led 21-23 when they briked a serve. A kill each by Lockett and Schlader made it 24-23 Prairie. A spike went wide by Prairie got the serve back when Shears scored a kill for a second game point chance. Schlader then set up Uhlenkott for a kill to the sideline that won the game for Prairie 26-24. In the fourth game Schwartz served Prairie to a 4-0 lead with 4 aces. After Kamiah got back within 1 Prairie pushed the lead back to 5 at 9-4. Kamiah came back with 5 straight to tie the game and eventually took a 12-15 lead. A kill by Lockett was followed up by a rotation foul by Kamiah which bailed out McWilliams who had made a terrible serve. Given a reprieve McWilliams got the ball in play which led to a kill on a block by Uhlenkott that tied the game at 16. The game was tied again at 17, 18, 19 and 20. Remacle scored a kill to put Priarie on top for good and Prigge served out the match. Lockett and Remacle had a kill each and Prigge finished it with 2 aces. For the match Prigge had 13 kills, 4 assists and 3 aces. Lockett had 11 kills and 5 aces. Schwartz had 8 kills, 20 assists and 6 aces. Schlader had 8 kills, 18 assists and 1 ace. Uhlenkott had 6 kills, which included 2 blocks, 1 assist and 4 aces. Remacle had 6 kills and 1 assist. McWilliams had 4 kills and 3 assists. Martinez had 4 kills. Shears had 3 kills and 5 assists. Klapprich had 1 kill. In the second match against Kamiah, Prairie jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the serving of Schwartz who had 2 aces and 2 kills while Uhlenkott scored 2 kills as well. Kamiah rallied back within 2 on 3 occasions, the final one at 9-7. Shears then scored a kill and Prigge served up 3 straight aces and Remacle added a block for a 14-7 lead. Kamiah got no closer than 5 the rest of the game as Prairie gradually added to the lead until they wound up winning by 10 at 25-15. The second game started close then Shears put together a 7 point service run to put Prairie up 12-4. She had 3 aces while Prigge scored 2 kills and Shears and Lockett each added 1. Kamiah rallied right back within 2 with a 6-point run of their own before Schlader scored a sideout kill. 3 times Kamiah got back within 3 but Prairie finally pulled away at the end. Uhlenkott served 3 aces to finish the game. In the third game Schwartz served Prairie to a 3-0 lead with an ace plus a kill each by Uhlenkott and Lockett. Kamiah came back strong though with 8 straight points and held the lead until Schlader scored a kill to tie it at 12-12.With McWilliams serving Prairie finally took back the lead on a kill by Lockett. Schlader and Uhlenkott each added a kill and McWilliams added an ace for a 16-12 lead. After 3 straight sideouts, Uhlenkott scored a kill on a tip and Lockett followed with 2 aces plus a violation against Kamiah for a 21-14 lead. Kamiah was able to get back within 4 at 22-18 but 2 kills by Remacle and a match winning kill by Prigge gave Prairie a 25-18 win. Lockett had 7 kills, 3 assists and 4 aces in the match. Prigge had 7 kills, 1 assist and 4 aces. Remacle had 6 kills including a block. Schwartz had 5 kills, 14 assists and 4 aces. Shears had 5 kills, 11 assists and 3 aces. Uhlenkott had 5 kills and 3 aces. Schlader had 4 kills, 3 assists and 1 ace. McWilliams had 2 kills, 3 assists and 3 aces. Martinez and Klapprich had 1 kill each. Prairie is now 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in league play. In the JV match Prairie won 25-14, 25-12, 10-15. Prairie had a 4-1 lead in the first game when Enneking took over at the service line. She served 7 straight including an ace. Mackenzie Key and Wemhoff each had a pair of kills and Olivia Klapprich added a kill for an 11-1 lead. The lead stayed at around 9-10 points until Kamiah put together a 6 point run that pulled them within 5 at 18-13. After 3 straight sideouts Wemhoff went to the line with a 20-14 lead and served out the game. An under the net violation was followed by 2 aces, a block by Forsmann and a game-winning kill, also by Forsmann, to make it 25-14. In the second game Prairie fell behind 1-3 but a back row kill by Klapprich scored the sideout. Taylor Riener then served Prairie to a 10-3 lead. She had 4 aces while Forsmann had a block and a kill and Wemhoff added a kill. The lead stayed at 5-6 points until a kill be Wemhoff sent Key to the service line at 13-7. Key served 3 straight aces then Julia Rehder, Walsh and Wemhoff each added a kill for a 19-7 lead. Walsh serve 3 points that took Prairie from 21-10 to 24-10 with an ace plus a kill each by Riener and Forsmann. Kamiah fought off 2 match points before bricking a serve to give Prairie a 25-12 win. In the anti-climactic third game Prairie led only at 1-0 and 2-1 and were tied at 1, 2 and 8. Otherwise Kamiah led the whole way.
