Cottonwood City Council meets The Cottonwood City Council held their regular September meeting Monday, Sept. 14. Under unfinished business the council approved an out of town sewer connection for Jack Wimer who is building behind the Bernie Seubert house, just outside of the city limits. The Council also approved writing off bad debts not connected to property, which means renters. The Council also approved closing open burning within the city limits until further notice. In the reports, Pat Holthaus report they pumped 7.6 million gallons of water and sold 7.5 million for a 1.2% loss. In the street report it was noted that the School Street project is finished. Stripes-a-Lot is currently out at the airport working on the sealcoat and Poe Asphalt will be there later in the month. Fire Chief Greg Danly reported they had one extrication assist and one fire on East Rd. that was pretty much out by the time they got there. They are also looking into obtaining an updated extrication vehicle in the future. In other business, council members discussed attending a virtual workshop presented by BroadbandUSA through CEDA, The first session is set for October 8. In business from a couple of special meetings held earlier the council approved a variance request for Mike and Marilyn Lerandeau at a special meeting on August 17. They also approved authorization to sign a notice of grant agreement at that meeting. At a special meeting on Sept. 1, they approved authorization to sign for an Idaho DEQ Wastewater Grant agreement. At that meeting they also approved transfer of an alcohol beverage license from Doreen’s to An American Bar LLC. The Sept. 14 meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m. The next regular meeting is set for Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. |
