Prairie to host meet on Saturday Prairie will host their first ever cross country meet this Saturday, October 10 at the football field complex. They had originally scheduled one for Sept. 22 but that got cancelled when the Troy Invitational got delayed a week due to smoky air. Action will start at 9 a.m. with the girls junior high race followed by the junior high boys at 9:30 a.m. The junior high races will be 3000 meters (about 1.7 miles). The high school girls race will start at 10 a.m. followed by the boys at 10:30. High schoolers run a 5000 meter course (about 3.2 miles). All races will start on the track and take a couple laps then follow the fence line around the complex. The high school races will go outside of the complex and follow cemetery roads for part of their race. All of the races will finish back at the track. |
