| 2 qualify for State Prairie had 2 Cross Country runners qualify for State at the District Meet held Thursday, Oct. 22 at Lewiston. Kyleigh Duclos finished 6th in the girls race in 22:08 and qualified for State while Tyler Wemhoff finished 15th in the boys race in 19:12.1 and also qualified for State. The State meet will be held this Saturday, October 31 at the Portneuf Wellness Center in Pocatello. This is the same site as last year’s State meet. It was originally set for Eagle Island State Park near Boise but limits on admittance to the park would have not allowed any spectators to attend. The 1A girls race will be held at 9 a.m. MDT while the boys race will be at 9:45 a.m. In the girls race Prairie finished third out of four teams. The top 50% of teams advance. If there had been a fifth team, Prairie would have advanced. For the girls Kerri Villamor placed 20th in 24:21. Mattie Lustig was 22nd in 24:49. Leann Lightfield was 26th in 25:47 and Katteri Duman was 27th in 26:14. There were 34 total runners with the top 12 advancing to state. For the boys Zach Rambo placed 23rd in 20:25. Justin Lockett was 34th in 21:31. Lee Forsmann was 38th in 22:09. Black Uptmor was 41st in 23:10. Zane Uptmor was 45th in 26:16 and Morgan Poxleitner was 46th in 26:16.1. The boys placed 5th out of 5 teams. The top 3 teams advanced to State. There were 46 total runners with the top 16 advancing to State.   The two state qualifiers.
