Munkers resigns from Cottonwood Council The Cottonwood City Council held a special meeting Tuesday, Nov. 17 and accepted the resignation of council member Don Munkers. The meeting had been rescheduled from Monday, Nov. 9 due to a lack of a quorum. Munkers, who had been appointed to replace Lynn Guyer a few years ago when Guyer moved to Montana, was ironically, replaced by Lynn Guyer, who has moved back to Cottonwood. After approving Guyer as the new council member, Mayor Pepper Harman administered the oath of office. Ida-Lew membership was approved for another year. Munkers had voiced some objections but with him resigning from the Council and no one else having objections, the expenditure was approved. A bad debt writeoff for 411 Main St. was approved and turned over to a collection agency. The Idaho DEQ IPDES Compliance Agreement Schedule was approved per Joe Wright’s conversation with Amy Uptmor. It was approved to have Mayor Harman sign the agreement. Action on the balance of water hookup fee for the Fairgrounds and Wimer Corp. was tabled as was a waiver of a utility bill for Clint Riener’s house on Washington Ave. Pat Holthaus and Carol Altman informed the council of a underbilling for Ironwood from Oct. 1, 2018 to Sept. 30, 2020. Holthaus made a motion to forgive the back billing and it was approved. In the reports Holthaus reported they pumped 3.2 million gallons of water and sold 2.9 million for a net loss of 9.5%. All the tests came back good. In the police report the new police vehicle was discussed and then Danielle Cochran was presented a National VFW Law Enforcement Officer Award. 50 of these are presented each year, 1 in each state and Cochran was the award winner for Idaho. In the Land and Buildings report, Linda Nida reported the curtain was hung at the bottom of the stairs to help reduce drafts in the senior center. It was reported the final funding came through for the airport resurfacing project. The only fire department call for the past month was for a slash pile on Lewiston St. The meeting adjourned at 7:32 p.m. The next regular meeting is set for Monday Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. |
