Dear Editor, My intention is not to cause division, but I wish to respond to a certain letter that appeared in this newspaper last week. The question "will anti-maskers be seen in the same light as knee-to-the-neckers?" was asked. This question makes a comparison between those who choose not to wear a mask, and a police officer who malicioulsy tortured a subdued man leading up to the man's subsequent death. This is unbelievable. I know the writer of that letter can do better. Isaiah Williams Cottonwood
No. 297 - 1/4/2020 Whew!! We made it! Despite the over publicized threat of Covid, the lockdowns seriously increasing unemployment, the bankruptcy and disappearance of hundreds of businesses (the heart and soul of traditional America), the crazy policy of Planned Parenthood still allowed to snuff the life of innocent babes by the thousands, alongside the forced closure of churches across the land, and many other almost insane restrictions that have hobbled the country we love and are fortunate to be part of....despite all of this and much more, WE ARE HERE! We are still alive in almost the same percentages as research posts in the past! Our national population figures remain above 331 million today, and when compared to the past ten years, one would hardly conclude that 2020 was a disastrous death year! Check for yourself, and you will see roughly the following population figures for the years noted, all in millions: 2010 - 309, 2011 - 312, 2012 - 314, 2013 - 316, 2014 - 318, 2015 - 321, 2016 - 323, 2017 - 325, 2018 - 327, 2019 - 328, 2020 - 330. All here are July 1 figures on Google, while the 331 million cited above is the 2020 year end estimate. Why I ask, do the powers that be not publicize these figures, instead of continually headlining "MORE SPIKING COVID CASES!" Why not remind us that the ALMOST 300,000 Covid deaths compared to our population of 331 million means as an American citizen you have a calculated chance of dying from the dreaded virus of ,00090634441! Do your own math! Divide 300,000 by 331 million! Now please realize that 1 death in 100 sounds bad, but the Covid death rate to confirmed cases is 1/1103! What! That means that our 300,000 Covid deaths compared to our population of 331 million threatens us with 1 death per 1103 people! Please! Would someone please explain to me why, I say WHY.... are we shutting down our country over this threat? Why are literally NO FANS able to attend major league baseball games, nor NFL football games? Or Gonzaga or major college basketball games? WHY attendance in churches prohibited or restricted? Why are some states denying student attendance in school, and denying those students normal competition in athletics? Why even in PRIVILEGED Idaho, can we ONLY have ONE PARENT per player attending high school basketball games? WHY I ASK, and am waiting impatiently for ANSWERS! And another thing bugging me badly! Why is our national press, 80% or more of our college teachers, Hollywood, even clergy in many churches SO BLASTED EAGER to turn us into a SOCIALIST NATION? Is no one aware that in 1959, visiting Soviet Premier Krushchev boldly proclaimed in public: "We cannot expect the the Americans to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their leaders in giving Americans small doses of Socialism, until they finally wake up to find they have Communism." Maybe we should recall the following two quotations from Communist leader Lenin: "Marxists have never forgotten that violence will be an inevitable accompaniment of the collapse of Capitalism." Also: "We must hate, for hatred is the basis of Communism. Children must be taught to hate their parents if they are not Communists." In concluding, it must be asked. Are we comfortable with the socialist administration that is wanting confirmation later on this week with the Biden presidency? Are we ok with the claim of the Associated Press that "This was the most accurate and honest election in our country ever!" This claim despite growing proof that the election was STOLEN! Does it concern ANYONE, that the incoming administration is determined to allow abortions of innocent and future American citizens at a rate of near 3000 a day, when current president Trump is trying to end this national horror!
