Pirates win twice
The Prairie Pirates closed out their
regular season with a pair of league road wins. On Thursday, Feb. 18
they traveled to Potlatch and clinched the #2 seed into the District
Tournament with a 62-23 win. On Saturday, they traveled to Kamiah and
won 52-34.

Lady Pirates take second at State
For the sixth time in the past seven
seasons the Prairie Lady Pirates reached the state championship game
only to come away with the second place trophy as they lost to Grace
37-46 at the Idaho Center in Nampa Friday, Feb. 19.
Earlier in the state tournament they had
beaten Rimrock 53-43 on Wednesday, Feb. 17 and Lighthouse Christian
50-32 on Thursday, Feb. 18. Both of those games were played at Columbia
High School in Nampa. . . .

Cottonwood
Butte Ski Area (CBSA) had excellent snow conditions this weekend with
new snow accumulation totaling 36 inches at the base and 48 inches at
the summit. Skiers and snowboarders escaped to enjoy the newly groomed
trails and powder. CBSA will continue to be open this coming weekend
Saturday February 27 and Sunday February 28, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please check Facebook, the Today @ CBSA on

Jerry Richardson was presented
the Sportsmanship T-shirt for Prairie at the girls state tournament
this year. Jerry and his wife Janet had been there every time the girls

Raspberry Festival postponed until 2022. Because
the pandemic may not be over by the first Sunday in August and out of
concern not to host a “superspreader event,” the leadership of the
Monastery of St. Gertrude decided to postpone the Raspberry Festival
this summer. It will return the first Sunday in August 2022. We are
grateful to all our vendors, volunteers and all who have come to enjoy
the festival in the past. We will see you in 2022. --Sister Mary
