Pirates opened again Riverstone
The Prairie Pirates will open against District 3 champion Riverstone, a private school located in Boise.
Riverstone is 13-0 on the season and 10-0 in the Western Idaho Conference.
Prairie brings a 17-5 record into the tournament having finished 2nd in both the White Pine League and District Tournament.
In the other half of Prairie’s bracket are 14-4 Lakeside and 19-3 Oakley, the District 1 and 4 champions, respectively.
In the other half of the bracket are 10-12 Grace, the District 5-6 Champion against 19-4 Victory Charter, the District 3 runner-up and 17-4 Lapwai against 12-11 Liberty Charter, the District 3 third place team who got in by winning a play-in game against Murtaugh, the District 4 runner-up.
The tournament is on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this year due to Covid, with the championship game on Friday at 2 p.m. MST, at the Idaho Center. All other games are at Vallivue High School in Caldwell.
Update: Prairie lost 64-73 to Riverstone and were to play Oakley at 11 a.m. PST Thursday, March 4 in a loser-out game. If they win they would play again at 9 a.m. PST on Friday, March 5 against the winner of the Victory Charter-Liberty Charter consolation semifinal.
