UI Extension offers workshops
“Weed Management in Field & Forest”.
It’s that time of year again. Many weed control measures are best applied in spring when weeds are young and actively growing. Tim Prather, UI Extension Weed Specialist, will cover control methods for both common broadleaf weeds and annual grasses, including ventenata. Tim will also discuss biological control measures for broadleaves for those looking for a non-chemical option. Join us this month to get the latest information on weed control for 2021.

“Natural Resource Planning for Rural Landowners”.
Creating a natural resource plan for your property can help you assess your goals and determine what projects and activities you may need to undertake to achieve them. This workshop will use the Tree Farm Plan template and guide you through completion of each part of the plan with examples, as well as how to decide on appropriate goals that match your property, your interests, and your lifestyle. Such plans are valuable for your own personal use, or if you choose, can be submitted for approval through the American Tree Farm system. Formally approved plans can be used as a basis for obtaining cost-share from the NRCS to do various conservation projects on your property.
