Pirates win 2 out of 3
The
Prairie baseball team played 3 league games this past week. They split
a doubleheader against Troy at Lewiston, winning 8-7 then losing 4-7,
on Friday, April 30. Then on Monday, May 3, they traveled to Genesee
where they won 14-3.

The Pirates are to play
C.V. at Cottonwood Thursday, May 6 at 4 p.m. The outcome of that game
will determine the Pirates seeding into District. If they win it looks
like they would be the #1 seed and go direct to Orofino on May 14. A
loss may have them playing on Tuesday, May 11 at 4:30 p.m., likely at
Cottonwood.

The
Prairie Lady Pirates won twice this past week. On Thursday, April 29
they won 20-7 at Nezperce and on Friday, April 30 they won on Senior
Night over Culdesac 18-3. . . .

Prairie
High School sophomores Morgan Poxleitner and Colton McElroy competed in
an international engineering challenge this Spring. The 2021 Fluor
Challenge was one for the record books! More than 6,100 students from
20 countries participated in the 2021 Fluor Engineering Challenge.
Equipped with just thirty sheets of paper and a roll of tape,
kindergarteners through seniors in high school built impressive
structures by rolling, folding, taping, and twisting. More than 3,500
paper towers were built during the competition. Morgan and Colton (The
Cavemen) placed 1st in their age division as well as overall. Morgan
and Colton constructed a tower that was 12 ft tall, using 23 of the 30
