Family reunion celebrates 65th anniversary The Ron and Doris Sonnen family gathered June 11th and 12th to celebrate their 65th Wedding Anniversary for a special weekend on the family farm. Staying in campers, tents and local homes 46 family members arrived, some traveling from as far as Colorado, Oregon and Washington, to visit, reminisce about growing up on the farm, tour the old buildings and new additions to the farm and evening campfire stores and s’mores. Friday the grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in a scavenger hunt and everyone guessed jars of farm commodities grown on the farm over the years, played lawn games and mini-bike rides. Saturday morning started off with a bus tour of all the farm properties with Ron narrating stories and the history. The afternoon was spent trap shooting, family pictures were taken, and the day ended with a video of all past family gatherings and memories. Ron and Doris have seven children and their 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren range in age from 41 to six weeks old.
