Summerfest set for this weekend The second Cottonwood Summer Fest is on tap for this weekend, July 30, 31, and Aug. 1. Friday, July 30, will include a color fun run starting at 5:30 p.m. and a kids dance and movie starting at 6 p.m., all in the Cottonwood City Park. C’est La V’s will be serving breakfast from 7:.00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday for the general public. 3 hotcakes and 3 links of sausage for $7.00. That will be followed by the parade at 10 a.m. Lawn mower races are set for 11 a.m., followed by a kids’ dog show at 11:30 a.m. The egg toss will take place at noon, with the ping-pong ball drop at 1 p.m. The button drawing is on tap for 1:30 p.m., followed by the watermelon eating contest at 2 p.m. Get ready to throw some bales at the hay bale throw at 4 p.m. Goldfish races are at 6 p.m., and a street dance with live music is set for 7 p.m. All-day events include kids’ games, a bounce castle, show and shine event, softball and cornhole tournaments and vendors. Note that all class reunions are invited to meet and visit or plan their own events. Sunday, Aug. 1, the ATV fun run will be held. It starts at 11 a.m. from An American Bar on Main Street in Cottonwood. See below for schedule and event flyers.
