Spangled Banner to officially open the Summerfest Parade.     Several Prairie High School class reunions took part in the Summerfest Parade. From top down are the classes of 1980, 1981, 2010 and 2011.  The Cottonwood Credit Union's parade entry.  There was a lot of candy to be had by the youngsters during the parade.  Pacific Cabinets, Inc. had a parade entry.  The Idaho County Fair Royalty were in the parade.  The Prairie Band plays the school fight song.  The band had just finished playing when this photo was taken as Alex McElroy practices his parade wave.  Chase and Charlene Nuxoll of Hometown Auto and AG had this beautiful 1956 Chevy Pickup in the parade. They also displayed it at the Car Show next to Fred's Body Shop afteward.  Several young ladies make up the Summerfest Royalty and were in the parade.  Tom and Shirley Bower of TS Teknadyne had a parade entry.  Several egg toss contestants prepare to catch eggs tossed by their partners.  Tara Ross looks apprehensive but managed to safely catch the egg tossed by her husband Scott this time.  Branden Waller makes a juggling catch of his egg.  Clay Weckman had his egg break but as one of the final two pairs of contestants, so did their opponents. He and James Waters went on to win.  Craig Hood and Isabella Walsh in the Cornhole Tournament put on by Chase Kaschmitter as his Senior project. Isabella's brother Levi and their uncle Carman Duuck were the winning team.  Ellea Uhlenkott tosses the beanbag in the Cornhole Tournament.  The Cornhole boards weren't done when the tournament was as several people continued to play throughout the day. Eli Rad was the only lawnmower race competitor this year although he had made sure nobody would beat him this time by grabbing a push mower as he had souped up the engine in his mower.  Several of the Dog Show entrants. Lily Lockett, with the curly hair, and her Labradoodle wound up as dog and owner lookalike winners.  This young puppy wound up as the obediance winner as his owner was able to have him do several tricks including rolling over.  A couple more dog show entrants taking advantage of the shade. The little black puppy won as smallest dog entered.   People scamble to pick up ping pong balls after they were dropped. A gust of wind just as they were dropped blew them all toward the south side of the street and many bounced off the awnings.  Nick Uhlenkott was the early leader in the hay bale toss.  Jarod Cash wound up winning the event.  A couple of women also competed in the hay bale toss.  Ryan Wemhoff gave the hay bale toss a try and was the only competitor to wear work gloves.  A couple of young ladies try to steer their goldfish to the finish by blowing through a straw.  A couple of identical, although differently colored bouncy castles were enjoyed all day by youngsters. |
