'Flush Fund' is fundraiser for Park Pavilion You may have seen a toilet painted up like a watermelon in front of a Cottonwood business recently. For example, it was in front of HUB International on Monday morning. It is part of a fundraiser for the proposed new Cottonwood City Park Pavilion called the Cottonwood Park “Flush Fund.” The toiler will be traveling around town and is subject to the Plumbing Policy. Plumbing Policy: $15-Take it away! $25-Send it to someone! $40-Insurance so it doesn’t come back! $50-Party Pooper List – pre-register so it never comes to you! All proceeds raised during this fundraiser will be earmarked as match dollars needed on grant applications. For more information, contact the City of Cottonwood at 208-962-3231. You can also send donations to: City of Cottonwood, PO Box 571, Cottonwood, ID 83522 or drop them off at Cottonwood City Hall, 501 Main Street. The grant funds are being sought to replace the old city park bathrooms and cabana which were originally built in the early 1960’s. The bathrooms have been renovated a couple of times in the past 30 years but are not American Disabilities Act compliant. Attached to the new bathrooms will be a covered area for gatherings. This will also have a storage area with running water to ease in hosting events. The proposed facility will be located on the site of the existing Cabana which is in major need of replacement. The ‘Flush Fund’ toilet is a traveling trophy that is part of a fundraiser for grant matching funds for the proposed Cottonwood City Park Pavilion. You can see it is painted up like a watermelon with a green tank lid and the rest painted pink with black “seeds.” Photo provided by Linda Nida.
