Classroom renamed in honor of Sr. Mary Paule Tacke
As we reflect on this past year, we can’t help but yell from the rooftops our gratitude and thanks.
A huge part of Sister Mary’s Children’s success in 2021 was due to the incredible community of Sister Mary Paule Tacke’s hometown. It never ceases to amaze what this community continues to do for the children and young adults at the projects started by Sister.
We want to specifically recognize Katteri Duman and the immense effort she put into her senior year project that raised funds for Sister Mary’s Children. A special thank you to Collen Sonnen for mentoring Katteri and to her parents for all of their support. Thank you to all who bought raffle tickets. The money raised by Katteri went directly to the projects to support things including on site schooling, updated and expanded bathrooms, and supplies for the workshops.
We also want to share that in June 2021 the Thembelihle Home School classroom received some much needed updates including new classroom furniture and paint. It was at this time that the classroom was formally renamed and dedicated to Sister Mary Paule Tacke. She believed the foundation for all things was centered in the value of education for all. As a way of honoring her, the Thembelihle Home School classroom was renamed as "Sister Mary Paule House, where growth, development and care of Thembelihle Home children takes place.”
Our full 2021 end of year newsletter can be found at sistermaryschildren.org. An end of year, tax deductible donations can be made on our website or mailed to Sister Mary’s Children PO Box 809 McCall, Idaho 83638. Thank you and wishing you a loving Christmas season.
