On Wednesday, Jan. 11, Idaho County Commissioners and Idaho County Sheriff Doug Ulmer honored two detention officers for their outstanding actions on the day of December 26, 2021. Detention Corporal Rick Knutson and Detention Deputy Jason Brown were both awarded lifesaving plaques in recognition of their exemplary job performance. An inmate attempted to hang himself and they were able to quickly intervene, ultimately saving his life. The Sheriff is very proud of his staff and their actions that day.
