Pirates to host District opener The White Pine League Boys Basketball District Tournaments start next week. The Division 1 tournament starts Wednesday, Feb. 16 with 4 games at 4 different gyms. The top 4 seeds host the bottom 4 seeds with all four games starting at 6 p.m. on Feb. 16. Prairie looks to be locked in as the #3 seed and will host the #6 seed, which appears to be C.V. as they have the tiebreaker against Genesee. The tournament moves to Lewiston High School for the remainder of the tournament starting on Monday, Feb. 21 with 4 games starting at 3 p.m. Teams that win both Wednesday and Monday will clinch berths at state and play for the District Championship on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. There are two loser-out games on Wednesday, Feb. 23 starting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday’s winners will play Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. for third place. The third place team will travel to Coeur d’Alene on Saturday, Feb. 26 to play the District 1 champion for a berth at State. The Division 2 tournament starts Thursday, Feb. 17 with a pair of loser out games at two different gyms. We will have more info and that bracket next week for the St. John Bosco boys team.
