The 6th annual Idaho County YWCA Purse Auction will be held September 18th at the Cottonwood Community Hall in Cottonwood, Idaho. The live auction will start at 2 PM; Lunch will be served at 12:00 PM. A silent auction will be held from12-3 pm.
We are excited to share our news with you and hope that you will be able to support our cause in Idaho County. This will be our 6th year to hold our YWCA Purse Auction which benefits the victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse in Idaho County. In the past 5 years we have raised almost $70,000. The last year we had the auction we hit our highest goal of raising $20,000!  100% of the monies stay with our Idaho County YWCA administrator Kristi Beckstead who provides services to the victims. We are ready to return to a live/silent auction since Covid shut us down 2 years ago.
The services we provide are numerous but not limited to: temporary housing, household necessities, workbooks for the classes we teach, transportation, gas cards, clothing, court appearances and bus tickets (if they are heading back to family away from here). We also provide counseling and job searches to get the victims back on their feet.  It is our mission to help these victims become confident people and know that this situation does not define them and they do not have to be victims any more.
In order to meet our mission and provide services in our county, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support.  We are asking you to once again support our program with a donation. The donation can be an item of your choice to be auctioned off or it can be a monetary donation. If you would like to sponsor a purse with your monetary donation the committee will purchase items to fill a purse and then the purse will be auctioned off.
