Summer Fest is this weekend The third Cottonwood Summer Fest celebration is this weekend. The event starts on Friday evening with events at the Cottonwood City Park. The Color Fun Run/Walk set to start at 5:30 p.m. Friday has been cancelled due to concerns about the extreme heat leading to minimal signups. At the Park on Friday will be a Kids Dance and movie plus a bounce house. The movie this year is “The Karate Kid.” Saturday is the main day for the festival and things get started at 7 a.m. with a breakfast at C’est La V’s. The following events are all taking place on Main Street. The Summer Fest Parade is set to start at 10 a.m. The Lawn Mower Race is set for 11 a.m. The Kids Dog Show follows at 11:30 a.m. The Egg Toss will start at noon. The Ping Pong Ball drop will be at 1 p.m. The button drawing will be held at 1:30 p.m. The Watermelon Eating Contest will take place at 2 p.m. At 4 p.m. is the Hay Bale Throwing contest. At 6 p.m. are the Goldfish Races. At 7 p.m. is the Street Dance featuring “American Bonfire.” Also taking place on Main Street throughout the day will be a Cornhole Tournament. Food and crafts vendors will also be located on Main Street as well as a Bounce House. A co-ed softball tournament will be held at the Wimer Ballfields. The only event scheduled for Sunday is an ATV Fun Run which will start at An American Bar on Main Street at about 11 a.m. See below for event flyers. |
