St. John Bosco Academy gun club open to area students
St. John Bosco Academy’s gun club is expanding to allow students from the local area. This will be the 4th year of training the school’s youth at American Freedom Defense Firearms Training. The club is a FREE extra-curricular activity for youth ages 12 and up. Thanks to a grant from the NRA Foundation this club can be offered to the public for free. NRA Foundation received funds with events like the local Camas Prairie Friends of the NRA Banquet. AFD Firearms training will donate the range and instructor costs. Then NRA Foundation is providing 9mm ammo and range gear for students. The club will meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month beginning in September and ending in May. Training will be for 2 hours each month, from 4:30-6:30 pm. There will be shuttle van to transport the kids who want a ride from St. John Bosco Academy in Cottonwood to the range in Greencreek. To keep all students safe, it will be required that all in attendance have completed a Handgun 1 course from AFD first. Space is limited to 14 students each month. The first students to register each month will be accepted. No obligation to attend each month, as the monthly topics will all be different. Gun rental available for $25 for those who need it.
