Patti Greene honored for 35 years at NICI
It’s not very often in a warden’s career, that you get to hand out a 35-year longevity award. Today we honored Patti Greene on 35 years at North Idaho Correctional Institution. Patti started her career as a correctional officer in 1979. She described the facility as having a male dorm and a female dorm with 2 officers running the institution without a fence. The first fence that was put up at NICI was to keep the cows out. She told us how they didn’t have any uniforms or radios. On visiting day, she was often mistaken for one of the residents. Patti had a break from NICI and came back to us in the 80’s as a teacher. She has been involved in education ever since. Another class Patti enjoys teaching is the FATHERS parenting class. D.W. Hill noted that for 35 years Pattie has not only come to work but has done so with a great attitude and smile on her face. We honor Patti as she gears up for retirement in December.
