Veterans monument vandalized
How sad is it, that last week the
Cottonwood Chronicle had a front page photo about the work that our
Lions club volunteers put in to upgrade and re-hang the marble plates
that recognized our military service members, old and young, and
this week I have to report that these nice new plates have been
vandalized. I ask two things. 1) if anyone has information regarding who may have done this, please call me, and 2) please explain to the youth the importance of not only these names, but our community. Teach them to be proud of where they are, of the sacrifices of their neighbors, and to respect themselves and their community. We, as a community, need to work together and stop these actions. But, for that to happen, all of us need to be involved. Terry Cochran, Cottonwood Police Chief |
