Kendrick ends Lady Patriots' season ST. JOHN BOSCO
The St. John Bosco Lady Patriots couldn’t recreate the magic from earlier in the District Tournament against Kendrick as they lost to the Tigers 7-25, 13-25, 14-25. With the loss they finished third in the District Tournament. Kendrick jumped all over the Patriots in the opening game as they jumped out to leads of 0-3, 1-5, 3-13, 4-16 and 5-23. Kendrick had serving runs of 7 and 6 points in the game as they rolled to an easy win. The Patriots scored first in the second game for their first lead of the night as Sarah Waters scored a kill. Kendrick the quickly took the lead and never trailed again except for a 2-2 tie when Waters scored a sideout kill. After trailing 5-10, Bosco rallied back within 2 on an ace by Raylie Warren and a kill by Serrinah Palmer that made it 8-10. Kendrick then scored 11 of the next 12 points for a 9-21 lead on their way to a 12-point win. Bosco never led in the third game as they fell behind 0-2 and 1-6 at the start. They twice got within 4 at 2-6 on a bad serve by Kendrick and at 4-8 after another bad serve plus a kill by Palmer. Kendrick then pulled away to a 4-12 lead. The Patriots managed to rally back within 3 as Waters scored 4 kills while Palmer scored a block and Warren scored a kill. That cut the lead down to 11-14. However that was the high water mark in the game as Kendrick got a 7 point service run that put the match away. For the match Waters had 13 kills and 1 assist. Palmer had 6 kills, including a block. Noelle Chmelik had 2 kills and 14 assists. Warren had 2 kills, 1 assist and the Patriots only ace of the match. Julia Wassmuth had 4 assists and Rachel Sonnen had 1 assist.
