Things Are True

Wiscensed to Pweach Ted Haws said: "I don't want a bunch of Timothys in my Church. I want as many Titus' as God will provide”. Timothys are High Maintenance. Titus' are "get out of my way" kind of guys. "Here I am equipped, Here is my mission, I just don't see the problem." And What is the goal? "Looking
for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and
our Savior, Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us that he might redeem
us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people,
zealous of good works." Titus 2:13 - 14 What's the mindset? "For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers." 1: 7 - 9 Convince the gainsayers can be translated - "Convict those who contradict" or who "suppress the truth in unrighteousness" Romans 1:18 This is the frontline stuff. This isn't just fence walkers, but targeting opposition which is coming, and indeed is here. Uncompromised, tempered with love and humility, but holding fast to the Great Commission where Jesus Himself tells us to "teach them whatsoever things I have commanded you". "I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of Lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen." 1st Tim. 6:13-16 "Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence" Psalm 94:17 |
