February events for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth, February brings with it our invitation for change. As Lent challenges us to assess our lives and enter Christ’s journey toward the cross we begin to shift our mindsets and yearn for newness of heart. This month brings with it opportunities for our young people to grow in this newness and become all that God calls us to be as a young Church. Please consider joining us on this journey through retreat, prayer, dance, discussion, learning, planning, work, and fun! We begin the month with an invitation to prayer on First Friday, Feb. 3rd at St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 p.m. We all have something we need to pray for and this is a perfect opportunity to bring God into our desires and praise. On Feb. 4th at 10:00 I will be hosting a safe environment meeting at St. Mary’s parish office. Any college age student or adult who plans on attending ICYC is invited to this workshop. On Feb. 5th the Confirmation students will meet at St. Mary’s Church for class. Thank you to Tonya Schumacher and Tara Klapprich for hosting breakfast at our last gathering. We really appreciate you! Everyone please remember that your Bishop letter is due on Sunday. If you have any questions, please let me know! On Wednesday, Feb.8th we will have a practice for all God Squad members at St. Mary’s Church. (We currently have 14 of our local youth helping to lead ICYC as God Squad members. I am so proud of their “yes” and willingness to step forward in faith) We will begin our time together with food at 6:30 and then move into our practice at 7:00 p.m. On Feb. 11th the Jr. High are invited to a mini retreat at the CEC, hosted by Isabella Walsh for her Senior Project. Please remember to bring you form and money. The retreat will go from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All Junior High school age youth are invited. Please contact Isabella or Debbie for more information! During the week of February 13th through 17th Debbie will be registering youth for the Idaho Catholic Youth Convention. We will not have any youth group this week due to the time it takes to register all the youth and adults. On Feb. 19th the Confirmation class will meet at St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m. We look forward to our time together. Lent begins on Wednesday Feb. 22nd. We will not have youth group this night because many of you will be going to Mass. If you need a ride to Mass on Wednesday night, please contact me. I will be happy to bring you! Going to Mass is a beautiful way to begin the Lenten season! Our Coffee and Jesus group will meet at the Habit after school on Feb. 27th. All High School students are invited to this time of discussion and relationship building with our god! May the beauty of this month bring you to a place of fullness and holiness with God.
