Holli Schumacher and Morgan Pack traveled with the Grangeville wrestling team to Challis this past week for the Challis Invitational/Mario D’Orazio Memorial Tournament.
After a first round bye in the girls 120 lbs. weight bracket, Holli Schumacher won by pin over Ellie Hanson of Emmett in 1:15. In the semifinals she lost by pin in 1:58 to eventual champion Madeline Hatchett of Glenns Ferry. In the consolation semifinals she won by pin in 2:38 over Kathryn Christensen of Weiser. She then won the consolation final, placing third in her weight class, by pinning Billie Rindernecht of Ririe in 1:59.
After a first round bye in the girls 132 lbs. weight bracket, Morgan Pack lost to eventual champion Gianna Coburn of Emmett by pin in 1:16. In the consolation semifinal she won by forfeit over Megan Myers of Clearwater Valley. In the consolation finals she lost by pin to Emily Helm of Ririe in 3:43 to wind up in fourth place.
