| Prairie wrestlers compete at several meets We thought we would catch up with the two Prairie students who are wrestling with Grangeville this year. Holli Schumacher took first place in the girls 126 lb. weight bracket at the Andrew Beck Memorial held at Grangeville on Dec. 16-17. She won by pin over Martinez of Clearwater Valley in 1:23. She won by pin over Johnston of Potlatch in 23 seconds. She won by 6-4 decision over Prather of Potlatch. She won by pin in 5:17 over Rushton of McCall-Donnelly. Morgan Pack took third place in the girls 138 lb. weight bracket at Grangeville. She lost by pin in 2:32 to Lockart of Lewiston. She lost by pin in 42 seconds to Blundell of C.V. Schumacher took second place in the girls 120-126 lb. weight bracket at the Chad E. Ross Memorial Tournament at St. Maries on Dec. 30. She won by pin in 44 seconds over Maddison White of Kellogg. She won by pin in 26 seconds over Eavan Johnson of St. Maries. In the championship match she lost by pin in 3:58 to Shelby Prather of Potlatch. Pack took fourth place at that tournament. She lost by pin to Alyssa Foreman of Lakeland. She got a bye into the third place match where she lost by pin in 23 seconds to Reese Bauer of Kellogg. At the Rollie Lane Memorial Tournament in Nampa on Jan. 6-7, Schumacher competed in the girls 120 lb. bracket. This apparently was a single elimination bracket. She got a first round bye then won by pin in 1:26 over Breyonna Crawford of Post Falls. Then she lost by pin in 2:35 to Delia Gulzow of LaGrande, OR. Pack competed in the girls 132 lb. bracket and lost by pin in 32 seconds to Daeja Sundquist of Syracuse, UT. |
