Mobile home fire in Cottonwood
Local officials responded to the second
residential fire in less than a week early Wednesday when a mobile home
on East Street in Cottonwood was destroyed in an early morning blaze.
Cottonwood Police Chief Terry Cochran
said the fire was reported about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. The police, the
Cottonwood fire department, the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office and St.
Mary’s Hospital responded.
The three adults in the home made it
out, Cochran said. One person had minor injuries. Three pets inside the
home died in the fire, he said. Cochran said he couldn’t be sure of the
fire’s origin, although it appears to be electrical. An Idaho state
fire marshal was expected to visit the scene for further investigation.
Cochran said the Red Cross was notified to assist the residents who were displaced.
