Girls sweep relays at Kamiah meet
The Prairie track team competed well at the Kamiah Meet held Tuesday, April 4 with Prairie teams winning 7 of the 8 relay races contested.
Sage Elven and Sydney Shears each won a pair of events and the girls swept all 4 relays as the girls team took first place in the team competition with 216 points, 54 better than second place Kamiah. Avery Riener won the triple jump at the Kamiah meet last Tuesday, April 4. It was her first time competing in the event.
Elven won the shot put with a personal best of 29’2¾” and also won the discus with a mark of 112’8”. She was also 12th in the 200 in 32.35.
Shears won the high jump with a personal best of 5’0” and the long jump with a personal best of 14’½”.
Avery Riener won the triple jump in her first time competing in the event with a  mark of 27’11½”. She was also 5th in the 100 hurdles in 22.04.
In the relays Alli Geis, Sierra Oliver, Aubree Rehder and Julia Rehder won the 4x100 relay in 55.56 with the team of Harlee Brannan, Meghan Fowler, Hailey Hanson and Sarah Lustig was 4th in 1:03.09.
The team of Geis, Oliver, Julia Rehder and Kristin Wemhoff won the 4x200 in 1:53.25 while the team of Aubree Rehder, Hanson, Lexi Schumacher and Elven was third in 2:03.62.
The team of Breanne Schwartz, Lacey Schwartz, Schumacher and Riener won the 4x400 in 4:50.79 while the team of Aubree Rehder, Riener, Schumacher and Oliver won the medley relay in 2:09.72.
For the boys team Shane Hanson won the discus with a personal best of 154’6” and also took third in the shot put at 41’1” and third in the high jump at 5’4”.
Trenton Lorentz won the long jump with a mark of 18’9” despite fighting an illness.
The team of Matt Wemhoff, Noah Geis, Hanson and Lorentz won the 4x100 in 47.78 while the team of Dylan Forsmann, Nate Forsmann, Briggs, Rambo and Caden Armbrust was 6th in 58.31.
The team of Wemhoff, Ben Secrest, Lorentz and Geis won the 4x400 relay in 3:46.61.
The team of Jackson Enneking, Cole Duclos, Bennie Elven and Armbrust won the medley relay in 4:23.41.
Other girls results:
Kristin Wemhoff was 2nd in the 100 in 13.26, 2nd in the 200 in 26.98 and 2nd in the 400 in 1:01.35.
Tara Schlader was 2nd in the 800 in 3:00.15, 4th in the discus at 82’4”, 5th in the triple ump at 26’11” and 11th in the 200 in 32.28.
Julia Rehder was 2nd in the long jump at 14’0” and 6th in the 200 in 29.78.
Lustig was 2nd in the discus at 83’8” and 8th in the shot put at 22’1½”.
Callie Remacle was 3rd in the 300 hurdles in 1:01.51; 3rd in the high jump at 4’6”, 4th in the 100 hurdles in 21.5 and 6th in the 1600 in 7:25.71.
Elizabeth Severns was 3rd in the discus at 82’6”, 3rd in the shot put at 27’8¼” and 5th in the 1600 in 7:14.63.
Oliver was 5th in the 100 in 14.35.
Schumacher was 5th in the long jump at 12’8½”.
Hanson was 5th in the discus at 80’2” and 5th in the shot put at 25’4½”.
Brannan was 6th in the discus at 80’0” and 10th in the shot put at 21’5½”, both personal bests.
Geis was 6th in the 100 in 14.6 and 7th in the 200 in 31.1.
Lacey Schwartz was 8th in the 200 in 31.83 and 9th in the 100 in 15.11.
Fowler was 12th in the discus at 60’10” and 14th in the shot at 18’11¾”.
Aubree Rehder was 13th in the 200 in 32.45.
Breanne Schwartz was 15th in the 100 in 15.55 and 15th in the 200 at 32.79.
Carmen Ove was 10th in the 400 in 1:29.42, 20th in the 100 in 16.26, 20th in the 200 in 36.61 and 20th in the long jump at 6’8½”.
Other boys results:
Briggs Rambo was 2nd in the 110 hurdles in 22.0, 4th in the long jump at 15’3” and 6th in the 300 hurdles in 51.30.
Geis was 2nd in the 100 in 12.26.
Wemhoff was 3rd in the 200 in 25.84 and 4th in the pole vault at 8’0”.
Lee Forsmann was 3rd in the discus at 125’3” and 7th in the 400 in 59.63.
Dylan Forsmann was 3rd in the 110 hurdles in 24.56, 8th in the 300 hurdles in 56.28 and 24th in the 100 in 14.38.
Elven was 4th in the discus at 121’3”, 5th in the shot at 31’4”, and 6th in the 100 in 12.89.
Secrest was 4th in the 400 in 57.77.
Zane Uptmor was 5th in the 200 in 26.50, 7th in the discus at 98’8” and 10th in the 400 in 1:01.32.
Chase VonBargen was 5th in the 1600 in 5:41.45 and 9th in the 800 in 2:28.40.
Cole Duclos was 8th in the 400 in 1:00.61 and 10th in the 100 in 13.03.
Nate Forsmann was 8th in the shot put at 27’6” and 10th in the discus at 84’1”.
Jackson Enneking was 13th in the 400 in 1:02.94 and 18th in the 100 in 13.42.
Landon Riener was 15th in the 1600 in 7:05.84 and 21st in the 800 in 3:11.91.
Peter Remacle was 16th in the shot put at 21’6”, 21st in the discus at 57’7” and 21st in the 200 in 37.84.
Also in the relays the team of Secrest Geis, Lee Forsmann and Lorentz took 2nd in the 4x200 relay in 1:40.62 while the team of Enneking, Armbrust, Uptmor and Duclos was 4th in 1:46.0.
As a team the boys placed third with 149 points behind Grangeville and Kamiah.
Two Prairie athletes also competed at the Kendrick Invitational Saturday, April 8 at Lapwai.
Shane Hanson was 2nd in the discus at 131’7” and 7th in the shot put at 39’5” while his sister Hailey was 4th in the discus at 90’1”, a personal best, and 10th in the shot put at 24’4”.
