Kristin Wemhoff breaks school record in the 400 meter dash
The Prairie track team competed at two meets last week, the rescheduled Prairie Meet on Tuesday, May 2, and the District II Meet of Champions on Thursday, May 4 at Lewiston.
At the second meet Kristin Wemhoff was able to break one of the longest standing school records for the Prairie girls track team. Although she took 2nd in the 400 meter dash, her time of 58.57 broke the record of 59.0 set by Carrie Riener (Nygaard) back in 1977. Wemhoff has also run her second and third fastest 400’s at the Lewiston track.
Prairie Meet
Prairie won both the girls and boys team championships at the Prairie meet.
Julia Rehder and Trenton Lorentz each won 3 events. As it turns out they were the same 3 events. Lorentz won the 100 in 11.68, the 200 in 23.51 and the long jump at 19’6½” while Rehder won the 100 in 13.75, the 200 in 28.78 and the long jump at 14’9¼”.
Callie Remacle was also a multiple event winner as she won the high jump at 4’6” and the 1600 at 6:59.45. She was also 4th in the 100 hurdles in 21.23 and 4th in the long jump at 13’6¼”.
Another multiple event winner was Briggs Rambo who won both hurdles races. He won the 110 hurdles in 20.43 and the 300 hurdles in 59.95. He was also 3rd in the pole vault at 8’0” and 12th in the long jump at 14’2½”.
Other girls events:
Sydney Shears was first in the 400 in 1:05.40 and 3rd in the high jump at 4’4”.
Wemhoff was 1st in the 800 in 2:30.42.
Sierra Oliver was 1st in the pole vault with a personal best of 7’3”, only 3 inches shy of the school record. She was also 2nd in the 100 in 13.97 and 2nd in the 200 in 28.86.
Sage Elven was 1st in the discus at 106’9” and 2nd in the shot put at 31’4”.
Avery Riener was 2nd in the triple jump at 29’6”, 2nd in the long jump at 14’5½”, 4th in the 200 in 29.72 and 5th in the 100 in 14.27.
Tara Schlader was 2nd in the 300 hurdles in 1:00.72, 2nd in the discus at 102’0”, a PR, and 4th in the triple jump at 27’5½”.
Lacey Schwartz was 2nd in the 400 in 1:09.9.
Elizabeth Severns was 3rd in the discus at 101’6”, 5th in the shot put at 28’1”, 4th in the 400 in 1:20.30 and 12th in the 200 in 33.18.
Breanne Schwartz was 3rd in the 400 in 1:13.54.
Lexi Schumacher was 4th in the 100 in 14.22, 6th in the 200 in 29.84 and 6th in the long jump at 13’1¼”.
Hailey Hanson was 4th in the discus at 100’5”, her first time over 100’. She was also 7th in the shot put at 26’6”.
Alli Geis was 5th in the 200 in 29.84 and 6th in the 100 in 14.50.
Harlee Brannan was 6th in the discus at 91’5” and 12th in the shot put at 22’3½”.
Sarah Lustig was 7th in the discus at 86’6” and 9th in the shot put at 23’10”.
Aubree Rehder was 7th in the 100 in 14.68 and 7th in the 200 in 30.49.
Carmen Ove was 10th in the long jump at 6’6¾”, 14th in the 200 in 34.73 and 15th in the 100 in 16.13.
Meghan Fowler was 10th in the discus at 72’4” and 14th in the shot put at 20’4”.
The 4x100 relay team of Brannan, Fowler, Hanson and Lustig placed 1st in 1:01.42.
The 4x200 team of Schumacher, Lacey Schwartz, Breanne Schwartz and Schlader placed 1st in 2:00.44.
As a team the girls scored 259 points, nearly 200 ahead of 2nd place Genesee.

Shane Hanson was 1st in the discus at 153’7”, 3rd in the high jump at 5’4” and 7th in the shot put at 36’6”.
Noah Geis was 2nd in the 100 in 11.72 and 2nd in the 200 in 23.70.
Lee Forsmann was 2nd in the discus at 125’3” and 8th in the 100 in 12.52.
Cole Duclos was 2nd in the pole vault with a personal best of 9’0”, and 9th in the 200 in 26.64.
Dylan Forsmann was 2nd in the 110 hurdles in 20.87 and 2nd in the 300 hurdles in 53.72.
Ben Secrest was 3rd in the 100 in 12.23 and 3rd in the 200 in 24.62.
Zane Uptmor was 3rd in the triple jump at 33’10”, a PR, 4th in the discus at 119’0”, also a PR, 4th in the 200 in another PR of 24.62 and 5th in the 100 in 12.41.
Chase VonBargen was 4th in the 400 in 1:03.02 and 13th in the 200 in 28.33.
Bennie Elven was 5th in the discus at 118’4”, 7th in the 100 in 12.48 and 8th in the shot put at 34’10”.
Caden Armbrust was 6th in the 400 in 1:08.11 and 19th in the 200 in 30.73.
Landon Riener was 8th in the 400 in 1:12.29 and 20th in the 200 in 31.47.
Nate Forsmann was 10th in the discus at 86’3” and 11th in the shot put at 30’2½”.
Jackson Enneking was 10th in the 200 in 26.88, 11th I the 100 in 12.82 and 13th in the long jump at 12’11½”.
Peter Remacle was 14th in the discus at 75’6”, 18th in the shot put at 22’9” and 20th in the 100 in 16.37.
As a team the boys scored 199 points, 69 ahead of 2nd place Kendrick.
Meet of Champions
Prairie had no event winners at the Meet of Champions. Kristin Wemhoff nears the finish line in the 400 meter dash where she broke the school record.
Wemhoff placed 2nd in the 200 in a PR of 26.51 and 2nd in the 400 in the above mentioned school record time.
Riener was 2nd in the triple jump with a PR of 31’8½”.
Top finisher for the boys was Hanson who was 2nd in the discus at 139’11”. He was also 12th in the shot put at 39’½”.
Other girls results:
Shears was 3rd in the high jump at 4’8”, 7th in the 800 in 2:32.48 and 7th in the 1600 in 5:45.26, a PR.
Elven was 4th in the discus at 111’4” and 11th in the shot put at 30’9½”.
Schlader was 7th in the discus at 99’8½”.
Remacle was 8th in the high jump at 4’4” and 20th in the 100 hurdles in 20.26.
Hailey Hanson was 9th in the discus at 95’4½”.
Lustig was 16th in the discus at 89’0”.
Severns was 17th in the discus at 88’2½”.
Brannan was 19th in the discus at 87’5”.
The girls 4x400 relay team of Geis, Oliver, Riener and Shears finished 2nd in 4:20.99.
The medley team of Oliver, Aubree Rehder, Julia Rehder and Geis finished 3rd in 1:59.40.
The 4x200 team of Riener, Oliver, Aubree Rehder and Julia Rehder finished 5th in 1:57.76.
The 4x100 team of Geis, Oliver, Julia Rehder and Wemhoff was battling for first until a dropped baton in the final exchange.
The girls placed 4th as a team with 62 points.

Lorentz was 3rd in the 200 in 23.32 and 10th in the long jump at 18’6½”.
Geis was 3rd in the 400 in 52.06 NS 6TH in the 200 in 23.82.
Lee Forsman was 4th in the discus at 131’0”.
Elven was 9th in the discus at 120’3½”.
Rambo was 10th in the 110 hurdles in 20.02.
Secrest was 12th in the 400 in 55.43.
VonBargen was 14th in the 1600 in 5:12.22.
Uptmor was 15th in the discus at 107’9”.
The 4x400 relay team of Elven, Secrest, Lorentz and Geis was 2nd in 3:39.04.
The 4x100 team of Elven, Geis, Secrest and Lorentz was 4th in 46.34.
As a team the boys finished 8th with 41 points.

Trenton Lorentz finished 3rd in the 200 at the Meet of Champions. The Moscow runner is Dylan Rehder, son of Prairie graduates Terry and Holli (Munkers) Rehder.

Jr. High team competes at two meets
The Prairie Jr. High Track team competed in a pair of meets last week. The first was the Grangeville Battle on the Hill on Tuesday, May 2. The second was the KMS Invite at Kamiah where the girls brought home the team trophy on Saturday, May 6.
Grangeville Meet
At the Grangeville Meet Payton Stamper won both the 100 in 12.1 and the 200 in 26.7 for the boys team. He was also third in the long jump at 15’1½”.
For the girls team Erica Schlader won both hurdles races. She won the 75 meter hurdles in 14.0 and the 200 meter hurdles in 33.9.
Also winning events for the girls team were Aubree Geis in the 200 in 29.2 and Nadia Cash in the long jump at 15’0”. Cash was also 3rd in the 100 in 13.7 and 7th in the 200 in 31.5.
The girls team also had 2 relays that placed first. The 4x100 team of Schlader, Mia Anderson, Geis and Nadia Cash won in 56.1 and the 4x200 team of Avery Kehler, Reagan Brannan, Geis and Anderson won in 2:01.8.
Other girls results:
Anderson was 4th in the 75 hurdles in 14.7 and 6th in the 400 in 1:13.4.
Macie Uhlenkott was 4th in the discus at 63’8”.
Kehler was 6th in the long jump at 11’10”
Brannan was 7th in the discus at 62’¾”.
Brooke Bennett was 11th in the discus at 53’8½”, 17th in the shot put at 19’0” and 18th in the 400 in 1:25.4.
Avery Schacher was 12th in the shot put at 21’6½”, 6th in the high jump at 3’10” and 19th in the 200 in 36.2.
Molly Fowler was 12th in the discus at 51’2½”.
Blake Uhlenkott was 12th in the 200 in 33.9 and 33rd in the 100 in 16.0.
Beka Schumacher was 13th in the discus at 50’10½” and 18th in the 75 hurdles in 17.0.
Alli Rambo was 15th in the long jump at 9’11”.
Sheridan Ousnamer was 22nd in the long jump at 8’9”.
Faith Cash was 25th in the 100 in 15.3.
Marjorie Remacle was 27th in the 100 in 15.5.
The 4x400 relay team of Faith Cash, Macie Uhlenkott, Rambo and Kehler was 3rd in 5:20.1.
The medley team of Schlader, Kehler, Brannan and Remacle was 3rd in 2:20.1.
The 4x100 team of Macie Uhlenkott, Faith Cash, Blake Uhlenkott and Brannan was 9th in 1:03.6 while the team of Fowler, Ousnamer, Rambo and Schumacher was 16th in 1:09.3.
The 4x200 team of Macie Uhlenkott, Rambo, Remacle and Blake Uhlenkott was 7th in 2:13.6 while the team of Schacher, Schumacher, Fowler and Ousnamer was 9th in 2:22.9.
As a team the girls were 2nd with 101 points, 8 points behind Grangeville.
Other boys results:
Onyx Lish was 3rd in the discus at 88’0”.
Kade Quintal was 3rd in the triple jump at 29’5”, 8th in the long jump at 13’3” and 8th in the 800 in 3”07.3.
Matthew Jones was 4th in the 800 in 2:55.0, 7th in the 400 in 1:07.4, 17th in the 200 in 31.9 and 19th in the long jump at 11’9½”.
Ashton Martin was 6th in the shot put at 31’10”, 7th in the 200 in 28.6 and 16th in the discus at 72’7”.
Lane Mader was 6th in the discus at 83’9”, 7th in the shot put at 31’9” and 22nd in the 100 in 14.6.
Trajan Elven was 10th in the discus at 79’1”, 10th in the 400 in 1:12.7 and 15th in the 200 in 31.8.
Gabe Dicaria was 21st in the 200 in 32.9.
Nathan Weber was 22nd in the discus at 63’4½”.
Kade Hanson was 28th in the long jump at 9’10”, 31st in the shot put at 19’8” and 32nd in the 100 in 17.1.
The 4x100 team of Quintal, Stamper, Mader and Martin was 5th in 55.7.
The 4x200 team of Weber, Lish, Elven and Dicaria was 5th in 2:02.4.
As a team the boys placed 5th out of 12 teams with 64.5 points.
KMS Invite
At the KMS Invite Stamper won 3 events while Schlader was the only girls individual event winner.
Stamper won the 100 in 12.78, the 200 in 26.59 and tied the school record in winning the long jump at 17’2½”.
Schlader won the 75 hurdles in 14.26 and was also third in the 200 hurdles in 34.90.
Two relays broke school records. The girls 4x100 team of Schlader, Geis, Lillian Rehder and Nadia Cash won in a school record time of 55.94. The boys 4x100 team of Quintal, Stamper, Mader and Martin took 2nd but broke the school record with a time of 53.57.
Other girls results:
Geis was 2nd in the 200 in 29.18, 2nd in the 800 in 2:49.80 and 4th in the 1600 in 6:29.55.
Nadia Cash was 2nd in the long jump at 12’10”, 3rd in the 100 in 14.02 and 7th in the 200 in 30.94.
Anderson was 3rd in the 200 in 20.0,  6th in the 400 in 1:08.57 and 7th in the 75 hurdles in 15.40.
Macie Uhlenkott was 3rd in the discus at 65’9” and 7th in the shot put at 23’2”.
Rehder was 5th in the 200 in 30.64 and 6th in the long jump at 11’8”.
Brannan was 5th in the discus at 64’7”.
Faith Cash was 6th in the 800 in 3:04.07 and 15th in the long jump at 10’1½”.
Schumacher was 9th in the discus at 51’5½” and 16th in the 75 hurdles  in 16.84.
Bennett was 10th in the discus at 47’10”, 21st in the shot put at 18’3½” and 29th in the 200 in 37.69.
Fowler was 13th in the discus at 44’9½”.
Remacle was 13th in the 400 in 1:16.57.
Rambo was 17th in the long jump at 9’8½”.
Ousnamer was 26th in the long jump at 8’8”.
The 4x200 team of Kehler, Brannan, Schlader and Anderson was 1st in 2:02.08. The team of Blake Uhlenkott, Faith Cash, Remacle and Rambo was 4th in 2:13.79. The team of Schumacher, Ousnamer, Fowler and Bennett was 6th in 2:21.31.
The 4x400 team of Kehler, Macie Uhlenkott, Faith Cash and Remacle was 3rd in 5:17.38.
The medley team of Macie Uhlenkott, Kehler, Rehder and Brannan was 3rd in 2:16.11 while the team of Blake Uhlenkott, Ousnamer, Rambo and Fowler was 11th in 2:27.54.
The 4x100 team of Kehler, Blake Uhlenkott, Rambo and Brannan was 10th in 1:03.01 while the team of Fowler, Ousnamer, Remacle and Schumacher was 12th in 1:04.92.
As a team the girls placed first with 118 points, 27 more than runner-up Grangeville.
Other boys results:
Martin was 4th in the shot put at 35’2”, 7th in the 200 in 28l17 and 14th in the 100 in 13.86.
Quintal was 4th in the triple jump at 28’5½” and 8th in the long jump at 13’8”.
Elven was 7th in the discus at 92’0”, 12th in the 400 in 1:12.39, 16th in the 200 in 31.95 and 30th in the 100 in 15.25.
Weber was 9th in the discus at 87’3”, 13th in the in the 200 in 31.00, 15th in the 400 in 1:16.37 and 17th in the 100 in 14.07.
Mader was 11th in the shot put at 26’11” and 27th in the 100 in 14.99.
Hanson was 19th in the 400 in 1:22.02, 22nd in the 200 in 37.32, 23rd in the shot put at 18’5” and 44th in the 100 in 17.23.
As a team the boys were 6th with 53 points.
